State announces grants to clean up illegal open dumps in 20 Kentucky counties - including Butler

FRANKFORT- Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Charles Snavely Tuesday announced that about $1.15 million in grant funding has been awarded for the cleanup of 77 illegal dumps in 20 counties across the state.

2018 Butler County Coroner's Report

In 2018 there were 29 coroner calls made by the Butler County Coroner’s Office and 22 provisional of death reports signed for cremation to be done.

51 calls made: 

20 were ruled natural deaths  

22 provisional of deaths signed for cremation in 2018 this increased by 4 with 18 in 2017. 

3 ruled accidental deaths (1 accidental fall, 1 accidental drowning, and 1 accidental farm related accident.) 

3 ruled suicides 

3 overdose deaths 

No homicides or vehicle fatalities occurred in Butler County in 2018.

Morgantown – Ohio County Healthcare (OCH) is pleased to announce that Alelea Hewitt, APRN will join Debi Clark, APRN, at the Butler County Family Care (BCFC) office at 210 North Main Street in Morgantown. Bruce Durham, MD will also be including BCFC into his practice locations. All three providers are accepting new patients.

Treasurer Ball Returns $19,364 to Butler County

Kentucky Treasurer Allison Ball

FRANKFORT, KY – The Kentucky State Treasury has experienced another year of record unclaimed property returns under the leadership of Treasurer Allison Ball, her office announced. Treasurer Ball has returned more unclaimed property in a three year period than any state treasurer in Kentucky history. To date, her office has returned over $70,167,000 to Kentuckians. This record amount of returns includes $19,364 returned to Butler County since she took office.
