KSP Investigating Shooting in Ohio County

UPDATE (2-04-2019 8:30 PM): Kentucky State Police detectives have made an arrest in connection to the shooting of Michael J. Miller, 45 of Morgantown.  

Chasity D. Clopton, 27 of Morgantown was charged by detectives with Attempted Murder; Assault 1st Degree; Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

She is being held at the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.

Miller is still recovering at U of L hospital in Louisville.

The investigation is on-going and still considered in the preliminary stages.

Kentucky highway fatalities declined in 2018

FRANKFORT – Preliminary figures indicate highway fatalities in Kentucky declined in 2018 to 722, down from 782 in 2017. According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS), this is the second consecutive year that roadway fatalities have decreased.

Brady Jones top district speller

District Spelling Bee Winner Brady Jones and Butler County Schools' Superintendent Scott Howard

The 2018-19 Butler County Spelling Bee was held Tuesday night, January 29, at the education complex.  BCMS student Brady Jones took home top honors in the event against quality competition from both Morgantown Elementary and North Butler Elementary.  Brady's winning word was "snuggle."
