On September 18th, Officer Ronald Cox, with the Morgantown Police Department, received a drug complaint involving two individuals. Through a joint investigation with the Butler County Sheriff's Office, Officer Cox attempted to stop the vehicle after disregarding a stop sign. After losing sight with the car, Deputy Chris Reneer, with the Butler County Sheriff's Office, made contact the vehicle which resulted in a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit ended near the 1700 block of Russellville Rd where the car stopped.

Kentucky adults just keep getting larger, reaching an all-time high for the number of obese adults in the state, ranking it fifth in the nation.

The Morgantown City Council met in regular session on Thursday, September 12th at the Eva J. Hawes Building. All council members were in attendance: Dustin Embry, Sharon Johnson, Dionne Merritt, Russell Givens, Jason Gaskey, and Sterling White.

Morgantown Bank & Trust held their 7th Annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday at the Main Bank location. The event featured The Rose Band, several guest performers, and karaoke.

The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, September 10 at the Butler County Education Complex.

 Tuesday, September 10 was the Butler County Farm Bureau 81^st annual meeting.

The Butler County Fiscal Court meeting took place at the Butler County Courthouse on Monday, Sept. 9.

Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson gave a presentation on the county tax rates for the 2019 fiscal year and received approval to begin sending them out.

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, August 26, with all magistrates - Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill and Dillon Bryant - in attendance.

Butler County Fiscal Court, at its August 26 meeting, approved an agreement between the South Central Workforce Board and the Butler County Jail.
