Wilsie Worth

Wilsie Worth, 93 of Rochester, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at his residence. Wilsie was born June 28, 1919 in Daviess County to the late John and Martha Early Worth and husband of the late Betty Jean Smith Worth. He was a member of Rochester Missionary Baptist Church, United States Army Veteran, and retired salesman.

Wilsie Worth is survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

Joline McKinney Belcher

Joline McKinney Belcher, 84 of Owensboro, Kentucky, passes away on Monday, October 22, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab in Owensboro.  She was a Butler County native, born on August 4, 1928 to the late Charlie and Lizzie Pendley McKinney and wife of Paul Belcher who survives.  The Belchers were married on June 30, 1950.  She had worked as the lunchroom manager and retired from the Davis County School System with 30 plus years.  She was a member of Parrish Ave.

Ruby Givens, 80,  of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, October 18,2012, at Morgantown Care and Rehab.  She was a Butler County native, born on May 13, 1932 to the late Herbert and Anna "Sal" Givens Engler and was the wife of the late Raymond Givens who she married on April 21, 1947.  Raymond and Ruby were blessed with four children, 3 daughters and 1 son.

Jerry B. Frank

 

Jerry B Frank, 65, of Caneyville passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Professional Care Health & Rehab Center in Hartford. 

He was born on October 29, 1946 in Grayson County, the son of Robert Lincoln and Lucy Kipper Frank. Jerry was a carpenter. He also loved to play music and was an avid rabbit hunter.

Earl Glen Wilson

Earl Glen Wilson, age 73 of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was born in Love, Ky. to the late Jakie D. and Lucy J. Wilson. He was a member of Northfield Blvd Church of Christ and a Real Estate Broker. He was a member American Legion, current Colonel on the staff of the Governor of Kentucky in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and retired from the United States Navy. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jenny Wilson, sisters Geneva Woodcock, Sharon Wilson, and Ruby Woodcock.

Ruby Dermitt

Ruby Dermitt, age 86, of Leitchfield KY, passed away Friday (October 12, 2012) at the Kensington Manor Nursing and Rehab in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on March 15, 1926 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Willie and Lorena Bailes Yates.

She was a housewife and with her husband, Rev. Edward Dermitt helped establish the Dermitt Funeral Home in 1969. She was a member of Claggett United Baptist Church.

Chester L. Flener, 67 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Chester was born March 15, 1945 in Flener, Ky. to the late Foy C. and Flora Flener Flener. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, Lifetime member of the DAV Ohio City Chapter 11, member of Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, attended Morgantown Community Church and retired mechanic and welder. Preceded in death by one sister Vondalene Hill and one brother Edward L. Flener.

Jewel Rebecca Whittaker, 36 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday October 6, 2012 at her residence. Rebecca was born September 4, 1976 in Whitley County, Ky. to John William Whittaker and Flora Mae Whittaker who survives. She attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church and a 1994 Warren East Graduate. Rebecca was a nurse at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky. Willis Elms

Willis Elms, 80 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Ky. Willis was born September 14, 1932 in Butler County to the late Lonnie and Magnolia Decker Elms. He was a retired farmer.

Willis Elms is survived by cousin Glendon Hunt of Morgantown, Ky. and several cousins and special friends Regina Embry, Bryan and Ryan Embry and Jeremy Blunk all of Morgantown, Ky.

Julian Carroll "Jack" Moore

Julian Carroll "Jack" Moore, 88 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Friday October 5, 2012 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab in Morgantown, Kentucky. Born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Julian Clyde and Etta Jordan Moore. Following graduation from Lancaster High School, Jack enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre Operation with the 796 AAAW SP Battalion. He attended Clemson University on a baseball scholarship.
