Janice Sue Blanchard Phelps, 64  of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, at her residence in Morgantown. Mrs. Phelps was born September 9, 1948, in Butler County, to the late Medford Lee Blanchard and Dixie Maybell Douglas Blanchard.  She was a member of Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Phelps was a cook for the Community Action of Southern Kentucky Headstart Program in Morgantown for 11 years. After retiring she became a  fulltime homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Lucille Johnson; 2 brothers Alvie Glen Blanchard,  Owen Clyde Blanchard and 1 daughter in- law Shannon Poole Phelps. 

Janice Sue Phelps is survived by her  husband of 47 years William Lee "Bud" Phelps of Morgantown; 3 children Tony Phelps of Morgantown, Randy Phelps of Morgantown, Tammy Suggs and husband Kevin of Morgantown; 7 grandchildren Cindy Cardwell, Jason Phelps, Austin Phelps, Zachary Phelps, Jacob Phelps, Lillian Suggs and Hannah Suggs all of Morgantown; 2 great- grandchildren Geneva Cardwell and  Nehemiah Cardwell both of Morgantown; 2 brothers Oscar Blanchard and wife Pat of Virginia, Larry Blanchard and wife Linda of Bowling Green; 1 sister Edith Gidcumb of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Service will be held at Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church, Morgantown, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at  2:00 p.m. with Bro. Larry Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home and Wednesday 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church in Morgantown.
