Ryan Jeffery Stevens

Ryan Jeffery Stevens, infant, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Medical Center Hospital in Bowling Green. Ryan was born September 4th to  Lucas D. Stevens and Jerica L. Hammers.  He was preceded in death by his four great-grandmothers: Ruth Beliles, Janice Hammers, Theressia Hammers and Lula Belle Morris; one great- grandfather Wendell Morris; and uncle Jeffery Hammers.

Melody L. Henderson

Melody L. Henderson, 35 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Melody was born December 12, 1977, in Butler County to Roger D. and Beverly A. Tomes Henderson who survives. She was a member of Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandfather Glenn R. Tomes and grandparents C.B. and Tine Henderson.

Ronnie Dale Brooks

Ronnie Dale Brooks, 51, of Louisville passed away September 3, 2013, in Louisville.

The Jefferson County native was a cook and a 1980 graduate of Edmonson County High School. He was a son of Clifton J. Brooks of Clarkson, who survives, and the late Freda Clemmons Brooks. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Louise Brooks.

Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home in Brownsville, Kentucky, with burial in Pine Grove United Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, 9 AM-8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Alvera M. Schnell Weiler

Alvera M. Schnell Weiler, 96 of Morgantown, Kentucky, formerly of St Louis, Missouri, entered into rest with the Lord at 1:33 am Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Alvera was born March 3, 1917 in St Louis, MO to the late Albert and Laura Anderson Schnell and wife of 53 years to the late John C. Weiler. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and great great grandmother, a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, Ky. Preceded in death by one son in law Milton G. Sexauer.

Bertha Embry Crain

Bertha Embry Crain, 94, of Caneyville, passed away Monday, September 2nd, 2013 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. 

Bertha was born on February 21st, 1919 in Butler County, the daughter of the late Jackson and Martha (King) Embry. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member at the Old Decker General Baptist Church in Butler County.

Clara G. Taylor

Clara G. Taylor, 71, of Bowling Green passed away August 30, 2013 at her home.
The Butler County native was a retired employee of Thomas Industries, a member of American Legion Post 23 Ladies Auxillary and a member of Duke Street Church of Christ in Cave City. She was the daughter of the late Otis Darrell Snodgrass and Lillian Gray Burden Snodgrass. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Snodgrass.

Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Cromwell. No other services are scheduled. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ida Nell Flener, 67 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Ida was born January 11, 1946 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clifton and Erelene Amos Martin. She was a member of Temple View General Baptist Church and retired LPN Nurse at the Fordsville Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Sharon and Norma Martin and ex- husband Shirley Duane Flener.

George A. Ewing, 69 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tennessee.

He was born Friday, April 14, 1944 in Butler County, Kentucky, the son of the late George Ewing and the late Edna Harper Ewing.

He was a factory worker at Emerson Electric.

Henry B. Threlkel

Henry B. Threlkel, 91,of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mr. Threlkel was born April 5, 1922 in Butler County, to the late Carter Clay Threlkel and Carrie Myrtle Young Threlkel.  He was a WWII Veteran where he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise in the South Pacific.

Geraldine Holman Griffin

Geraldine Holman Griffin, 84,  of Prudenville, Michigan, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Griffin was born September 23, 1928, in Butler County, to the late James Clifton Holman and Edna Flewallen Holman. She was a member of Monticello Baptist Church.  Mrs. Griffin was a Blueprint Operator and a Sewing Instructor for Sears & Roebuck. She was preceded in death by her parents and  sister Camilla Kay MacMunn.
