William Wilbert Blancett

William Wilbert Blancett, 90, of Louisville, joined his heavenly father on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

He was born on September 17, 1924 in Morgantown, Kentucky, the son of Hobert
Garrett and Mae (Bratcher) Blancett of Morgantown, KY and is preceded in death by his wife Geneva (Whittinghill) Blancett; son, Timothy Blancett and grand-son, Timothy J. Bucalo.

He is survived by four daughters: Barbara Bradley of Louisville, Linda (Terry) Northcutt of Shepherdsville, Trecia (Ronald) Olson of Fairdale and Vernee’ Blancett of Shepherdsville, one son: David (Tammi) Blancett of Bartow, FL and one brother, James Blancett of Bowling Green, KY., five grandchildren: Tony (Lisa) Bucalo, Tasha Bucalo, of Louisville, KY, Joshua Blancett of St. Petersburg, FL, Justin (Katie) Blancett of Nashville, TN, Aaron Maupin of Louisville, KY, seven great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Bucalo, Brenna Bucalo, Timothy K. Bucalo, Erin Maupin, William Maupin, Logan Maupin, Preston Blancett and John Blancett and many nephews and nieces.

William was a residential home builder and trenching contractor until his retirement. He was a man of many talents and inventions, with the ability to make anything work…you could say he was a self taught mechanical engineer. He loved God and was very active in attending church, southern gospel music gatherings, playing the harmonica and spending time with his family.
He lived his life with this motto from Luke 6:31 ~ “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015
beginning at 1:00 P.M. and a celebration of his life will be at 7:00 P.M. at the Evangel Christian Life Center, 5400 Minors Lane, Louisville, KY 40219. Burial service Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 12:00 noon CST at the family Whittinghill Cemetery, Love Lee Road, Jetson, Kentucky 42261.
