James Darryl Rogers

James Darryl Rogers, 61, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky began his final rest on Friday, April 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 30, 1957 in Louisville to the late James E. Rogers and Claudie A. Miller Rogers. Darryl retired from The Carmel Home in Owensboro, and was a member of Ohio County Seventh Day Adventist Church. At the young age of two, Darryl began his lifelong love of music and playing the piano sitting beside his mother.  He was a member of several southern gospel bands throughout his lifetime, playing for many events, family, and friends.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Butler Rogers; son, James Corey Rogers; granddaughter, Courtney Breann Rogers; great grandson, Tommy Fields; brother, Gerald Rogers and family friend, Jerry Phelps.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Sarah Rogers (David Deweese) of Cromwell; five grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Puckett, Kelsey Puckett, Kayla Suellen Cole, Emily Coons, and Adelynn Coons; great grandson, Ezra Fields; sister, Lynn (Bill) Burgess of Cromwell; uncle, Robert Rogers of Bowling Green, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2019 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Dennis Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow in Green River Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with Darryl’s family from 4-8 PM Wednesday and from 9 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
