Let the Cowboy Rock

Thursday night November 8th, a packed house attended the Holliday Bash concert at the SKYPAC featuring the legendary Ronnie Dunn.  This was part of his,  “Let the Cowboy Rock Tour.”  After being welcomed and thanked for supporting the cause, Ronnie’s opener for the show, BMI artist Bree Black, sang some of her own songs as well as a cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”.

Butler County ATC Students of the Month-October

Butler County Area Technical Center has selected (5) students to represent each class for the month of October. Each of these students displays leadership qualities that made them eligible for this award. Congratulations to each one.

Jonathan Huff, (senior), has been selected as the BCATC Student of the Month for the Air Conditioning program. Jonathan is doing well in class. He consistently scores among the highest on tests and quizzes. He has a good attitude and is helpful to both the teacher and other students.

BtN/WLBQ Halloween Pics - Part III

A diverse group of critters and creatures, ghouls and goblins made their way to the Beech Tree News/WLBQ office on Halloween night as trick-or-treaters.  They were greeted by the Beech Tree Bear and plenty of candy.  

"We love Halloween and look forward to seeing all the kids drop by our office to trick-or-treat," said Diane Dyer, BtN president.  "It's a good event for our community and we're happy to be a part of it."

UMC Collects 871 Items for Mission

The total of food collected by the Morgantown First United Methodist Church food drive for Morgantown Mission was 871 items. As promised, Pastor Darrin Jones had his head completely shaved.  “It was well worth it” he said.

Methodist Women host Taster's Luncheon

The Butler County United Methodist Women's Fall Taster's Luncheon was held Friday, November 2, from 10:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Morgantown First United Methodist Church in Morgantown.   A large crowd of hungry attendees took part in the annual event.

Tractors, engines on display at 6th Annual Show & Parade

For antique tractor and engine enthusiasts, the Charles Black City Park in Morgantown was the place to be last weekend - October 26 & 27 - as the Butler County Antique Engine and Tractor Club held its 6th annual show.  

A good crowd was on hand to partake of the various events, including a tractor parade, demonstrations, tractor games, kid's pedal pull, a pedal tractor raffle, and numerous food vendors.  

The event itself featured Ford tractors and Maytag engines.
