WKU Spring 2013 Dean's and President's List

The following students of the Western Kentucky University  were named to the Dean's and President's List for the Spring 2013 semester.  These lists are open to undergraduate students who have at least 12 hours of coursework for the semester with no incomplete grades. Students making the Dean's List have a grade-point average of 3.4 to 3.79 in a 4.0 scale. Students on the President's List have GPAs of 3.8 to 4.0 and are indicated by an asterisk (*). Students who have requested that their information be confidential in TopNet will not be listed.

A Token of Their Gratitude

For Howard “Droopy “ Drake, owner of Drakes Farm Service, the recent estate sale of Jack Moore on West Roberts Street in Morgantown seems to have paid off, even if  for only one cent. Hidden inside a jar of buttons Drake purchased was an old merchandise token valued at one cent toward the purchase in any merchandise provided the purchase was made at the J. A. Tanner Dry-goods Store here in Morgantown.

Benefit for Barbara Cox

Kuntry Kitchen will be hosting a benefit for Barbara House Cox and family on Saturday, June 1st from 3-9 PM. 10% of total sales (dine in and carry out) & all tips and donations will be given directly to the family. Barbara has been diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer that has spread to her lungs. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated!

 Dakota Ibarra with Sons of the American Revolution

Tuesday May 14th at 6:00pm, the Butler County High School NJROTC hosted their biannual Award Ceremony.There were73 cadets awarded with ribbons and medals ranging from: appearance, physical fitness, leadership and knowledge. Medals were awarded by the following organizations: The Military Officers Association, Military Order of World Wars, The Bronze Sons of the American Revolution,  The Reserve Officer Association, Theodore Roosevelt Youth Award, Order of the Daedalians, Good Citizen Award, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and The Scottish Rite.

Benefit for The Sanctuary

Resurrection Bound will be hosting a benefit for The Sanctuary, a youth camp located on Brownsville Road in Morgantown, on June 1 starting at 4 pm at Temple Hill Church (in Jetson area).  There will be a gospel singing, auction and refreshments.  All monies received will go toward a cabin that will house young children while attending camps.  Items to auction include gift baskets, furniture, televisions, lamps, books, resturant coupons and much more.  If you would like to donate any items to auction, please call David Hamlet at 779-1516 or Diana Hamlet at 792-5022.
