Twin Lakes Restaurant, Paylakes back in business at Gilstrap

A familiar eatery and paylake in the Gilstrap community of north Butler County is back in business.  Twin Lakes Restaurant and Pay Lakes, with new owner Roger Pharris, recently reopened the establishment and is ready for business.

I always get a little melancholy around Father’s Day.  My father passed away 13 years ago on August 1st and although I have come to accept that fact, there are still days when I really need my dad.  My father never got to meet my children and I think that is what saddens me the most.  I know in my heart that my dad would have been the kind of grandfather I had growing up.

Aberdeen Baptist Church VBS 2013

Aberdeen Baptist Church just completed another successful year of Vacation Bible School. There were 248 enrolled with an average daily attendance of 229.  Bro. Roger Taylor and the congregation would like to thank everyone who put forth so much effort to make this VBS a tremendous success.

Bryant and Havens Complete Early Morning Seminary Classes

Coty Havens, Karen Larsen, Teacher, and Jordan Bryant.

On Saturday night, May 18th two local area students,  Jordan Bryant  son of Billy and Kelly Thomas Bryant and Coty L Havens son of Pete and Christy Minton Havens, received a 4 year diploma for attending Early Morning Seminary classes with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Each day the students met with their teacher Karen Larsen at 6AM each school morning at the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building on Logansport Rd  for classes.  They spend this early morning hour studying the scriptures before heading off to school.  The Seminary program is avai

Girl Scout Troop 546 Says Thank You

Troop 546 wants to thank everyone who bought girl scout cookies this year. They were able to go on an over night trip to Great Wolf Lodge an indoor water park.

Morgantown Housing Authority Job Fair

Painting Classes with Ms Barbara. Tuesdays from 10 am until finished. Butler County Ed. Complex.

Line Dance Classes-Wednesday evenings at 5:30. No charge. Butler County Ed. Complex.

Intermediate Gymnastic-Must be able to do a cartwheel and round-off to take class.
Fee: $25.00 for 4 one hour classes. Begins Tuesday June 4th at 4:30 at the Ed.Complex.

New Hours for Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church

Holy Trinity Catholic Church has new hours for mass:  Beginning June 16th, mass begins at 8 am every Sunday with rosary offered for an end to the atrocity of abortion beginning at 7:30 am.  Mass will be offered in Spanish at 9.15 am. Weekday mass will be on Thursday at 8:30, all are invited, please join them anytime.
