Grand Ole Opry-Butler County Style

THE GRAND OLE OPRY-Butler County Style, will take place on March 22, beginning at 6 p.m. at the BCHS Gym. All proceeds will go to benefit Project Prom.

The Butler County Area Technology Center took 24 students to Regional Skills Competition and were able to bring home 16 medals.  Medalist include:

Soil Tests Prevent Over-Fertilizing

With input costs remaining high, farmers are looking for ways to make their money go further. Testing soil from fields now can prevent over fertilizing in the spring and potentially save money on input costs, said soil specialists with the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture.

Head Start Accepting Applications

Butler County Head Start has begun taking applications for enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year.  Head Start is a federally funded child development preschool program serving three and four year old children from primarily income-eligible families.  You may apply if your child will be at least 3 years old before October 1st or upon the child's birthday if his birthday is after October 1 and if your family's income falls within established poverty guidelines.  Days that have been set aside to take applications are March
