B.C. Relay for Life set for August 22

Butler County Relay for Life will be held August 22, 2015 from 6 pm to midnight at BCHS Football field.  If you are interested in purchasing a Luminaria they can be purchased at the Butler County Library or you can print the form and mail to the address on the form.  More details to come on the activities that we have planned. Please make plans to come out and support this great cause.

Tractor Show Huge Success

The Butler County Antique Engine and Tractor Club had one of their largest shows on Saturday at the Charles T. Black Park.  With over 140 entries their 9th annual show was a success featuring several tractors, engines, fresh ground corn meal, homemade ice cream and a variety of vendors.  Great food, a parade, and entertainment rounded out a successful show for the club.

Butler County High School FCCLA Attends National Conference

Rylee McKee,  Hannah McClelland, Connor Brown,Tori Hampton and Mikayla Iler

Seven members and one advisor of the Butler County Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended the National Leadership Conference in July.  Members participated in a variety of leadership activities, competed in national STAR events competitions as well as touring Washington, DC.

Butler County children receive blessing

 A student is prayed for by Rev. Derek Cain, the pastor at Salem Baptist Church and Rev. Ruth Morgan pastor at Mtown Naz.

Children in the Butler County School System are “prayed-up” and ready for school. Representatives of the Butler County Ministerial Association participated in the Butler County Back to School Bash Tuesday evening by offering children the opportunity to receive a blessing and some cotton candy.  Over 400 school children stood in line to receive their personal prayer individually or as a family.

Chad's 3rd Annual Car Cruise- In to Benefit BC Boys and Girls Club

Chad's Body Shop, Auto Service, and Wrecker Service will host their 3rd Annual Car Cruise and more to benefit the Butler County Boys & Girls Club. The day will also feature an Antique Tractor Show, crafts,and antique and collectables fair. 

All day kids' activities: Butler County Animal Shelter Pet Adoption Day, Bounce House, Face Painting, Ballon Doctor, Kids Contests, Enterment, Live Auction and Lots of Fun.

The Butler County Senior Center is located at 110 Warren Street in Morgantown.  Hours: 9:00-1:00, lunch is served at 10:45am.  Reservations needed.  Call manager Sylvia Moran at 270 526-5268.

Embry honored at state conference

 "Our Own" award recipient, Kimberlea Embry and Debbie Isaacs, KATFACS Awards Chair.

The Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (KATFACS)  “Our Own” Award is given to a Family and Consumer Sciences educator who is presently engaged in career and technical education has made outstanding contributions on a statewide level.  Mrs. Kimberlea Embry was one of two recipients of this year’s award at the Kentucky Association of Career and Technical Education state conference held in Louisville.  Mrs. Embry has been teaching Family and Consumer Sciences for 24 years with most of those years being at Butler County High School.

Rochester Ballpark has lights

The Rochester Ballpark is coming along nicely. The Paradise TVA Retiree Volunteer Chapter and workers from Pennyrile Electric came to the ballpark to set poles and lights.
