The Butler County High School Marching Band is getting ready to take the field for the 2015 season. This year the band has 134 members total, making the band one of the largest AA bands in the state of Kentucky. This year's show is The Road To El Dorado.

Band camp was held July  20-30 to prepare for the upcoming season.

The Butler County High School Band is sporting new t-shirts courtesy of Baker Gardner, State Farm Agent in Morgantown.  Gardner bought the shirts and gave them to the band.  Band members recently walked to his office to thank him for supporting the band. 

The shirts have BCHS Band 2015-16 on the front and State Farm Insurance on the back. 

"We wanted to show our support to our students.  For a long time State Farm hasn't been active in our community and I want to change that," said Gardner. 

Phillip and Rebecca Rose are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Lynn, to Dustin Blake Shelby, son of Larry Dale and Pam Shelby of Graves County. Shelby is the granddaughter of Martha and the late Johnny Rose and Louise and the late Royce Forsythe, all of Butler County. Dustin is the grandson of Larry and Patsy Shelby of Graves County and Betty and the late Boyce Baker of Marshall County.

On Friday, August 7th, at 7:30pm two Elders from Morgantown Care and Rehab were able to hear once again the music that they enjoyed long ago.

The Butler County Extension Service/Butler County Farm Bureau Field Day will be Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Heritage Farm in the Sharer community of Butler County.  The farm is on Hwy 1083 in southern Butler County.  Registration will begin at 3:30 p.m., with the program starting at 4:00 p.m. 

On the evening of Friday, August 7, 2015 the Butler NJROTC program held their annual freshman picnic from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the City Pool.  This event was put on by the ROTC instructors, Major Re
