North Butler Elementary Kindergarten Early Literacy Camp
 
Monday, July 20th - Thursday July 23rd
 
Please have your incoming Kindergartner at the school around 7:45.  We will meet in gym before dismissing the students to their locations for instruction.  Instruction starts at 8 am each day and parents will be asked to be back at the school at 10:00 am to pick up their child.  The students will need no supplies with them for the camp.  Thank you for helping us getting off to a positive start for the 2015-16 school year.

Burden – Gentry Wedding

Tim and Angie Burden, of Morgantown, Jeff and Marsha Blevins, of Glasgow, and Bobby and Betty Gentry, of Mt. Hermon are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Emily Burden and Wes Gentry.   Emily is a graduate of Butler County High School and Western Kentucky University with degrees in History and Sociology.  Wes is a graduate of Glasgow High School and Lindsey Wilson College with degrees in Counseling and Human Services and Christian Ministry.  Emily is employed at LifeSkills Inc. in Bowling Green, KY as a CDO support broker.

150 terrapins race at Catfish Festival: Shelby Gwathney's terrapin wins top prize

Overall Grand Champion: 1st Place - Terrapin #100 - Shelby Gwathney 2nd Pace - Terrapin #19 - Riley Dockery 3rd Place - Terrapin#36 - Briar Griffin

One of the Green River Catfish Festival's top events lived up to its billing on Saturday, July 4, at the annual terrapin race.  The event featured 150 terrapins competing in 15 "heat" races with an overall championship round consisting of each "heat" race winner.  When the dust settled, it was Shelby Gwathney's terrapin #100 that took the top prize of $25; Riley Dockery finished second with terrapin #19 and won $15; Briar Griffin's terrapin #36 took third place and won $10.

GRCF Beauty Pageants: 0-7 year olds

Stella Jo Easley, Charlie Roase Neighbors, and Embrelyn Kayte McClintock

The second night of the Green River Catfish Festival Beauty Pageants combined two pageants.  The boys and girls 0-23 months and 2-7 year old girls competed on Thursday night before a packed housed at Butler County High School.
