On Friday, September 11^th from 5-7 p.m., Richland Baptist Church hosted their 4th Annual Appreciation Dinner, at the EMS Building, for all Butler County emergency workers and volunteers including EMS, fire departments, rescue squad, and police departments. Over 75 people came out to eat.  

There were delicious burgers and hotdogs and lots of fix’n’s on the side for Morgantown Care & Rehab’s annual Block Party on August 28th. Just a few weeks ago, in appreciation for the great work of all our stakeholders, we celebrated with good food and fun. Stakeholders were encouraged to bring their families and kids and all of them enjoyed the face and hair painting, and of course the inflatables!

 The Fifth Annual  " Turn Morgantown PINK "  Breast Cancer Awareness event will be at 2:00, Sunday, October 4th on the front lawn of the Butler County Courthouse.
    This event will encourage newly diagnosed patients,  honor breast cancer survivors ,  as well as remembering those who are no longer with us because of this disease.

    There will be a short ceremony with local talent providing entertainment.  Please join us and wear pink.

The greatest comfort during our sorrow was the expression of sympathy conveyed to us in many ways. Would like to thank Morgantown Care & Rehab for the care they showed Brenda and her Family, Graves Gilbert Clinic in Morgantown, Aberdeen Baptist Church and Smiths Funeral Home, you all did a great job. Saturday, September 12, the Rochester School Reunion was held at the Rochester Baptist Church.  The 20 in attendance had a great time reminiscing and visiting with one another.  The years represented at the reunion were 1948-1953.  June Pendley was the only one in attendance who graduated from the Rochester school in 1953.  There was plenty of snacks, soft drinks, friends and fellowship.  Reunions are always a good time and this one was no different. 

The family of Winifred “Jean” Goodall would like to express our gratitude for the many acts of kindness during her recent illness and death.  We greatly appreciate all of the cards, visits, calls, food, flowers, Gideon bibles and prayers. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Jones Funeral Chapel, Bro. Raleigh Blancett and Rock Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Thanks to everyone who attended the funeral of my mother Anthylene Childress, and the ones who couldn't make it I understand.  May God bless everybody.
