9/11: Cash Express recognizes first responders

In commemoration of 9/11, employees of Cash Express of Morgantown recently presented Butler County First Responders with a cake to show appreciation for their service.

On 9/11 many first responders selflessly and without hesitation went and served their community when they were needed the most.  They put their lives on the line and made other’s emergencies their own.  Just like those first responders, Butler County’s First Responders selflessly serve the community.

Sometimes, we can get caught up in these stressors or events and allow them to take control over our lives and reduce our quality of life.

1919 Desk from the Butler County Courthouse

Tara Embry McClure shared some pictures with Beech Tree News recently.  The pictures are of a 99-year-old roll-top desk that has been refinished by two Amish gentlemen on the Homer Dockery Road. According to McClure the desk came from the Butler County Courthouse.
The desk was initially built in 1919 according to information on the bottom of a drawer.
"The desk was  just amazingly beautiful, and I don't know who the gentleman is that they refinished it for but I got the privilege to see it.", said McClure.
