GIRLS' H.S. SOCCER: Lady Bears drop game at Grayson County

LEITCHFIELD - The Butler County girls' soccer team showed improvement during its latest match but fell short in a bid to notch its first win. Returning to the win column following a loss, Grayson County beat visiting Butler County 7-2 in a girls' high school soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 24. 

Gillian Johnston scored three goals and dished out two assists to lead Grayson County to the victory over Butler County.

Joining Johnston in the Grayson County scoring column, Ellie Evans and Destiny Frye netted two goals apiece. Evans and Marinah Akridge distributed one assist apiece for the Lady Cougars. 

Defensively for Grayson County, goalkeeper Allyssa Morgan recorded three saves while allowing only two goals. 

Yesenia Diaz netted both of Butler County's goals in the setback. 

Pacing Butler County defensively, goalkeeper Brylee McClellan recorded eight saves.
