Davitt ties career-high with 5.0 frames, Battles notches fifth three-hit games 

Bowling Green, Kentucky – Brock Jones started the scoring for the Bowling Green Bootleggers (15-12, 46-42) in the bottom of the second with a three-run homer and the offense didn’t stop there, beating the Greenville Drive (13-14, 49-44) 8-3 on Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark. 

Greenville began the scoring in the top of the second off Bowling Green starter Duncan Davitt. Eddinson Paulino smacked a solo homer to make it a 1-0 game.  

2023 preseason high school summer football workouts began in July across the state - and that includes Butler County.  The KHSAA allows all fall sports to begin daily workouts on Monday, July 10.  Football daily workouts began in helmets, t-shirts & shorts only in the month of July. Shoulder pads are allowed later, and full gear workouts begin August 1.

Weldon Baize was recently recognized as an inductee in the 2023 Kentucky Trapshooting League Hall of Fame. Weldon has been an active member of the KTL and has served on the board of directors for over ten years. 

Baize is well known for his impressive trapshooting talent and commitment to promoting local trapshooting. 

The 2023 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship occurred in Mason, MI, July 5th-9th, with 1,800 student-athletes participating in the individual competition. Overall more than 460 high schools from across the country were represented.

On Saturday, July 8th, 1,800 top high school athletes competed in the USAHSCTL National Individual Championship Qualifying round. Of those, just 400 made it to the Sunday afternoon final.

Oak Ridge Christian Academy celebrated a momentous sports signing event Saturday July 1st, honoring Jersy Alford's commitment to play women's basketball at Campbellsville Harrodsburg University. The event marked a significant milestone for both Jersy and the school.

With only four envelopes remaining and a $10,000 tagged catfish on the line, Tony Deweese may have been a little anxious.  But, a tag number was called for a $600 catfish that matched his and his hopes of snagging the "big one" faded away.  Deweese was one of 19 anglers who caught 22 tagged

Rome, Georgia – Brock Jones recorded his seventh homer, adding to the Bowling Green Hot Rods (3-2, 34-32) 16 hits that pushed them to a 7-3 victory over the Rome Braves (2-3, 32-39) on Thursday at AdventHealth Stadium. 

Three Butler County High School softball players have been named to the Kentucky Softball Coaches' Association Class 2A All-State Teams.
