The annual Green River Catfish Festival Terrapin Race was held Tuesday, July 4, at the BCHS Softball Field.  The event was organized and sponsored by Cassia Masonic Lodge #272 F&AM, along with the Jones Funeral Chapel and Monument Company, P-31, Henderson Land Surveying, WarrenRECC, the Butler County Shrine Club, Drake's Farm Service, and Beech Tree News/WLBQ.   Additionally, Hampton Farms sponsored a $20 cash prize for the smallest terrapin, and Double A Farms did the same for the largest terrapin. 222 terrapins participated in the race. Each child was allowed to enter two terrapins.

There were 16 "Heat" Races and one Grand Finale Race that featured each of the winners of the individual heat races.

Heat Race winners received the following payout:  1st-$20; 2nd-$15; 3rd-5th $10 each. 

The Grand Finale winners received the following payout:  1st-$50 and trophy; 2nd-$40 and trophy; 3rd-$30 and trophy; 4th-5th-$20 each.

Bullseye Taxidermy donated the trophies.  All-Star Trophies donated plaques.  Save-A-Lot donated several bags of ice.
