The Franklin-Simpson Chamber of Commerce 2013 Mustang Mania at the Downs was held Saturday, June 8, at Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Kentucky. This was the 4th annual event. There were 128 cars at this year’s event, the largest to date. There were 21 classes of cars, 21 trophies taken home, more trophies given than in any previous year. Class One (’64-’73) was won by Billy Beasley. Best of Show, Closed, went to Bobby Beasley.

People’s Choice Ford went to Joe Daugherty of Morgantown for his 1967 Shelby Mustang. Morgantown’s Cameron Smith won the Battery Powered Class that was just added the morning of the contest.

Local band, Chapter 11 provided the live music throughout the day. They played a wide variety: songs from Tom Petty, Skynyrd, CCR, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffett, Eagles and many more.
