Despite Amy Rogers's 2-3 performance at the plate on Monday, the Bears took a 9-3 loss at the hands of Owensboro Catholic at WhitesvilleTrinity in the opening game of the 3rd Region Tournament.

 Jessica Carmon got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over seven innings, struck out nine, walked two and gave up five hits.

Morgan Manning allowed 14 hits, struck out two and walked two in the loss.

Three runs in the top of the sixth helped the Bears close their deficit to 6-3. An RBI double by Madeline Drake, an RBI double by Rogers, and an RBI single by Lynsie Clark gave the Bears life. Jazmin Reynolds singled in the fifth inning the game.

After a quick strike from the Bears, Owensboro Catholic  responded with three runs in the sixth. The Bears finish the 2013 season 22-14.
