Bears Maul Cougars 48-18

The Butler Co. Bears moved to (4-1) with a solid win over Class 5A border rival Grayson Co. by the score of 48-18.  The Bears took the opening drive marching down the field in nine plays; QB Rex Henderson scored from one yard out.  Logan Richardson’s point after kick good.

The Butler County Bears continue their winning ways as they defeated Grayson County 48-18 on Friday night.  The Bears now 4-1 head to Owensboro Catholic this Friday for their first district game.  Go Bears!!!!!! Now a few pictures from the sidelines...

Bears prevail 44-36 over Apollo after falling behind 21-7 in the second quarter

Undaunted by a 14-point second quarter deficit, the Butler County Bears rallied on the road Friday night to hand Apollo a 44-36 loss. 
The Eagles used their first possession to get on the board - a 9-yard touchdown run at 8:13 in the first.  Pass completions from Butler quarterback Rex Henderson to receivers Jacob Hixenbaugh, Daltyn Havens, and Blake Graham led to a touchdown by Henderson on a first-and-goal keeper.  Logan Richardson's kick tied the game at 7 apiece.

Oak Ridge Christian Academy's 2nd Annual Squirrel Hunt

Come out to ORCA Saturday, September 19 for our 2nd Annual Squirrel Hunt. Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased BY Friday, September 18 to be eligible. Prizes will be awarded based upon total weight (6 squirrel limit). There will also be prizes given for biggest squirrel and smallest squirrel killed.
Every ticket purchased will be be entered for our Grand Door Prize a "MARLIN .22 RIFLE.
Unlimited tickets can be purchased. You do not need to be present to win the GRAND DOOR PRIZE but you do need to be present to win the other prizes.

Week 4: From the sidelines...

The Butler County Bears are now 3-1 after a big win on Friday night at Apollo.  The Bears came from behind to get the 44-36 win.  Several fans made the trip to Owensboro.  Hope you enjoy some pictures from the sidelines...

Bears fall short against Russellville; will face Apollo tonight

Russellville made one more play than what Butler County did and that proved to be the difference last Friday night as the Bears fell 52-42 to the visiting Panthers. 
Butler County got off to a tough start as a fumble on kick-off return led to a quick Russellville touchdown.

Week 3: From the sidelines....

Week three of Butler County football saw a great deal of excitement.  The evening kicked off with a parade of homecoming candidates and the crowning of Alfredo Gomez and Courtney Cardwell.

Homecoming Royalty 2015: Gomez and Cardwell

Alfredo Gomez and Courtney Cardwell

The 2015 homecoming festivities were held on Friday, September 5, prior to the Butler County and Russellville kick off.  Alfredo Gomez was crowned king.  He is the son of Alfredo and Rebecca Gomez of the Northside.  Courtney Cardwell was crowned homecoming queen.  She is the daughter of Mike and Amy Cardwell of Morgantown.

Russellville coming to town; Bears looking for first win since 1991

Max Ward was the head coach and Robert Tuck was a senior the last time a Butler County football team defeated the Russellville Panthers.  Tonight, the Bears have what some high school football observers believe may be their best shot against a team that is a perennial football power.  And, it's homecoming to boot.
Butler County (2-0) will square off against Russellville (2-0) tonight with kickoff set for 7 p.m. following Homecoming 2015 festivities.

Prep Football: Bears use strong second half to beat Edmonson 49-14

 Two games into the 2015 season and the opening minutes of a game doesn't appear to be the Butler County's strong suit.  But, finishing strong is as the Bears handed rival Edmonson County a 49-14 homecoming thumping on Friday night at Brownsville.
