Bears 62 McLean Co. 24

   The Butler Co. Bears improved to 6-2 overall  on the season with  a key district win over the McLean Co. Cougars 62-24 this past Friday night on the road at McLean Co. HS.

On a very chilly Friday night the Butler County Bears and a few loyal fans headed to McLean County.  The Bears, now 6-2 on the season, picked up the win 62-24 over the Cougars.  Here is a few pictures from the sidelines…

Butler County's Golf Teams Finish with Tournaments

The BCHS Boys’ Golf ended the season on several good notes. Although in a rebuilding season, Coach Greg Moore exclaimed in joy, “I am ecstatic about the accomplishments by so many players on this year’s squad!”
After losing three seniors, two experienced players to work on personal jobs, and another exceptionally talented, young golfer to transfer within a short period, Coach Moore has scrambled to field a varsity team this year.

Bears 49 Hancock 14

The Bears moved to (5-2) overall, and (1-1) in district with a convincing 49-14 win at home over the Hancock Co. Hornets.  The Bears took the opening drive fifty-eight yards in only nine plays; senior running back Ian Embry scoring from three yards out, the kick went wide right. Bears led 6-0 with 8:19 left in the first quarter of play.

B.C.M.S Softball recognizes 8th graders; finishes winning season

What began in mid-July has come to a close for the Butler County Middle School softball team.  The Bears wrapped up their season last week with 8th grade recognition night and a trip to the middle school state tournament for Regions 1-4, which was held in Owensboro.  Butler County finished with a 19-17 record, which was a winning season and the most wins in middle school softball history.

Week 7: From the sidelines...

Week 7 was wet but the Butler County Bears came out with a win 49-14 over Hancock County.  With the begining of fall break and the weather the fan base for the Bears (5-2) suffered.  Thanks to Tami George for taking this week's pictures....

Bears Fall to Catholic 53-14

The Bears fell to 4-2 on the season, with a loss to Owensboro Catholic. The Aces were led by quarterback Ray Zuberer, who threw for six touchdown passes on the night. Zuberer was 19 of 25 passing for 337 yards.  The Aces racked up 465 yards total offense; and also took advantage of two Butler Co. turnovers, an interception and a lost fumble.

Butler County NJROTC travels to Paducah Tilghman

Cadets with  Major Redmond and Chief Melton

On the morning of Saturday, September 26, 2015 41 cadets from the Butler County NJROTC program went to participate in the Paducah Tilghman field meet. This meet consists of many different sporting events ranging from a 50 meter dash to dodgeball. The cadets competed against five other high schools to include: Davies County, Muhlenberg County, Owensboro, Fort Campbell, and Paducah Tilghman.  Butler County NJROTC won 1st and 2nd place in basketball shootout, 1st place in dodge ball, and 3rd place in tug of war.

Week 6: From the sidelines...

Week 6 for the Bears was a hard loss to Ownesboro Catholic 14-53.  The Bears struggled to get the offense going and the Aces prove too hard to handle on Friday night.  Several fans made the trip and school spirit was great.  We are sure the Bears will get back on the winning track next week as Hancock County comes to town.  Hope you enjoy the pictures...

Wallace Heads to Regional Golf Tournament

Emily Wallace

Lone BCHS girls golfer, and senior, Emily Wallace will play in her final regional tournament on Tuesday, September 29th, at Hopkinsville Country Club.

Emily has been consistent throughout the entire season. She has been named medalist 4 times, which is quite an accomplishment. During this season she shot her best career round with a 35, which is two under par, at Ohio Country Country Club. She also played her best career round at Butler County High School's home course, Hidden Valley, with a 37.
