ARCHERY: MES repeats as state champs; NBE's Grant Jones top male archer

Morgantown Elementary finished 1st place out of 81 schools winning the State Bullseye Championship with a score 3189. This is 2nd year in a row that Morgantown Elementary has accomplished this and finished the regular season undefeated at 18-0. The top shooting male for MES in bullseye was Brayden Tomes with a score of 277 closely followed by Kaleb Clark 273 along with Logan Givens and Kellon Meredith tied at 271.

Bears fall to South Warren
 
BOWLING GREEN - Butler County fell behind early and couldn't recover as South Warren pulled away to win 17-4 in five innings in an early-season high school baseball game on Tuesday.
With the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-2.

Butler County Golf Boosters Meeting

The Butler County Golf Boosters will be having a meeting on Wednesday, April 7 at 5:00pm in the BCHS Commons Area. We will be getting ready for the upcoming golf season starting in July. Anyone interested in being a member of the golf team or being a part of the Golf Boosters is welcome to attend.  We will be discussing many things of importance.

Butler County track and field teams compete at McLean County

MORGANTOWN - After competing on the road at Grayson County in an early-season meet on Tuesday, March 13, two days later, Butler County track and field teams ventured to McLean County. Butler County track and field squads competed in a McLean County All Comers Meet on Thursday, March 15. The Butler County boys' team won at McLean County while the BC girls' team finished second.

BCMS Boys’ Basketball Honored at Banquet

On Sunday, March 18, 2018, Butler County Middle School held its annual Winter Sports Banquet. Among the athletes honored were the Boys’ Basketball team.  The Bears had a lot to be happy about, coming off of the best winning season in school history, advancing to the Sweet 16 round at the middle school state tournament, and completing the season with an overall record of 30-7.

Clark helps lead Midway to doubleheader sweep

MIDWAY - Butler County High School graduate Lynsie Clark helped to lead host Midway to a doubleheader sweep over Brescia in a college softball twinbill at William G. Clark Memorial Field on Friday
In the opening game, Midway plated 10 runs on eight hits to pull away to beat longtime rival Brescia 10-2 in five innings via run-rule.
