58% of KY adults say pandemic is over for them, & resistance among the unvaccinated is increasing

Four in seven Kentucky adults (57%) think the pandemic is over in the state and more than 80% say concerns about Covid-19 will not keep them from attending or hosting gatherings during the holiday season, according to a Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky poll taken from Oct. 29 to Dec. 4.

Arrest on parkway leads to drug charges, endangering a minor

A Somerset woman was arrested earlier today, Saturday, December 17, on the William Natcher Parkway (I-165) following a reckless driving complaint.  Officers with the Morgantown Police Department observed the vehicle, driven by Ashley Sowder, having difficulty staying in its lane.  Following a traffic stop, officers determined that Sowder was intoxicated and in possession of what appeared to be methamphetamine and additional dru

Bratcher case ends in plea agreement

A high-profile criminal case in Butler County has ended with plea agreement.  On December 2, 2020, Richie Bratcher, 53, of Morgantown was charged with three (3)counts of Prohibited Use of an Electronic Communication System to Procure a Minor.

Local City Officials Receive KLC Training Awards

LEXINGTON, KY – The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) recognized three Morgantown city officials for their achievements in city governance. KLC presented Councilmember Dustin Embry and Assistant ABC Administrator Dana Phelps with Level III Master of City Governance awards. In addition, KLC presented ABC Administrator/Code Enforcement Officer Robert McKee with a Level I Achievement in City Governance award.

Louisville, KY (December 5, 2022) – Jacob Portman of Butler County performed before a live audience during the December 2 general session of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 103rd annual meeting in Louisville. Winner of both the Butler County and District 3 preliminary contests, Portman was one of 11 acts invited to perform at the state level Variety Showcase. The competition is sponsored annually by KFB to support youth achievement in entertainment.
