Kylee Meza Calendar Cover Girl, Billy Durbin Centerfold

Kylee Meza is the 2012 Calendar Cover Girl and Billy Durbin is the Centerfold Guy. Meza and Durbin were crowned Saturday night at the 2012 Calendar Girl/Centerfold Guy contest.  The contest  was sonsored by the Butler County High School FCCLA.  
“This is the 21st annual calendar girl contest and the 9th annual centerfold guy contest,” said Kimberlea Embry, FCCLA Sponsor for BCHS.  We are very pleased with the participation; we have 51 girls and 6 guys competing.”

Test of Emergency Alert System

On November 9, 2011, at 1:00 PM the first ever Nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will be conducted. Don’t be alarmed when television and radio broadcasts are interrupted for the test. If you have a Weather Radio it will be activated during the test.

Comfort Foods Raises $650 for Red Cross

The 4th annual Comfort Foods for the Holiday was held on Saturday, October 29 at the Education Complex in Morgantown.   Becky Hankins and Barbara Sullivan raised $650 for the American Red Cross.  Cooks from all over Butler County and a couple from other counties shared their favorite recipes. School Bus Accident on I-65

At 8:46 A.M. (CST) Kentucky State Police Bowling Green responded to I 65 southbound around the 53 mile point. The collision occurred approximately one mile North of Cave City, Kentucky.

Natcher Parkway Extension opens

 Nearly two decades in the making, the William H. Natcher Parkway Extension was opened to traffic today following a celebration for the two-mile section of roadway. Awarded to Scotty’s Contracting and Stone LLC for $37.8 million in November 2009, the much-anticipated extension will provide an additional route across Interstate 65 for south Warren and surrounding counties.

SERVPRO Ribbon Cutting

The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting at SERVPRO, located at 446 Industrial Drive South in Morgantown.  SERVPRO specializes in water, fire, smoke and mold damage remediation, removal, repair and restoration.  Owners Barb Higdon and Trent Young’s  goal is to make each customer feel “like it never happened.”
SERVPRO serves Butler, Hopkins, Ohio, Muhlenberg and Edmonson counties and offers a wide variety of cleanup and restoration services. Travis Dennis is the production manager and Lyndsey Kaye Whitaker is the marketing manager.

Williams & Farmer Visit Butler County

Senate President and Republican Gubernatorial Candidate David Williams, his wife Robin, and Agriculture Commissioner and Lt. Governor Candidate Richie Farmer stopped in Morgantown on Thursday as part of their bus tour across the state to promote their jobs plans and encourage voters to head to the polls on Tuesday, November 8.

Heritage Animal Hospital Under New Ownership

Heritage Animal Hospital opened its doors in 1984 under the watchful eye of Dr. Van Cohron. They have been providing skilled veterinary care in the Butler County area ever since. Now, that tradition continues under new ownership. Dr. Steve Hampton has purchased the practice.  Hampton, who sold his veterinary practice in Tennessee to return to Butler County to raise his family, starting working part- time at Heritage Animal Hospital in 2008; part- time soon turned into a full time job.
