Illegal Hunting Leads to Multiple Charges

John Christopher Morgan (DOB 9/3/85) of 155 Belmont Church Road, Morgantown, Kentucky, was arrested on November 14, 2011.  He was charged with the following: illegal taking of wildlife, taking of wildlife from a vehicle, resident hunting deer w/o proper big game permit, resident hunting/fishing w/o license/permit/stamp, possession of firearm by convicted felon ( 2 counts) and parole violation.  Morgan was lodged in the Butler County Jail.

Veterans' Parade

The 2011 Morgantown Veterans Day Parade was held on Saturday, November 12. Local Veterans served as the Grand Marshals of the parade. The parade featured veterans from across the county along with local law enforcement and members of the Morgantown Fire Department. The NJROTC and the BCHS Band also marched in the parade. Cook, BCHS Band Recognized; Board Gets Audit Report

District Assessment Coordinator Vickie Cook and Scott Howard, BC Superintendent

The Butler County Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on November 8, at the Butler County Middle School.  Ms. Vickie Cook was recognized for being named the Kentucky District Assessment Coordinator of the Year.  
“Ms. Cook started as a kindergarten teacher, moved to principal of Third District Elementary, moved to Central Office, and has done an outstanding job as the Assessment Coordinator for the district,” said Scott Howard, BC Superintendent.

BCHS October 2011 Students of the Month

Emily Rich

Four Butler County High School students have been recommended by faculty/staff members for October student of the month honors based on attendance, promptness to class, participation in class, grades or attitude.  These students are Emily Rich, Jackson Washer, Summer Berry & Erica Morris.

Emily is the 9th grade daughter of Don and Cathy Rich.  She participates in softball, FCCLA, Beta, and Renaissance Leadership club.  She also enjoys horse-back riding.  Her future plans are to graduate high school, attend Vanderbilt University and become a neurologist.
