Rhea Lavone Embry Phelps

Rhea Lavone Embry Phelps, age 85, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. She was born on May 3, 1937 in Butler Co., KY to the late Jesse and Lula Belle Mudd Embry.  Lavone was a homemaker and attended Belmont General Baptist Church. She loved painting, decorating, music and dance.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Phelps; brother Bill Embry and sister Joyce Edwards.

Stephen M. Gardner

Stephen M. Gardner, age 67, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  He was born in Evansville, IN. on Apr. 13, 1955.  He is preceded in death by his father Glenn Gardner and grandparents Delbert and Virgie Fields and Aaron and Pearl Gardner.

 Stephen is survived by his mother Ima Jean Fields Gardner of Morgantown; brother Ron Gardner of Overland Park, KS and several aunts, an uncle and lots of cousins.

Alford "Duke" Smith

Alford "Duke" Smith, age 78 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, February 1, 1944 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late John Leslie and Beulah M. Fleming Smith. Duke enjoyed racing, gardening, fishing and hunting. Out of those one would claim he told more tall tales than anything was ever caught or killed.

Shirley Bates Eaton, age 82, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Village Manor Christian Care Community in Bowling Green of natural causes. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with burial to follow. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

John George (Johnny) Schaeufele III

John George (Johnny) Schaeufele III, Bowling Green, KY, passed to his heavenly home on November 2, 2022, at the age of 88 with family at his side, marking an end to his full and wonderful life. He was born on a military base in Kansas. He attended Fort Knox elementary school, Alvaton High School, and WKU. He was also a past resident of Morgantown. Johnny loved the Lord, his family, and fellow man. He was a military veteran having served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves.

Lucille Deweese, age 85 of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was born on Monday, July 12, 1937 in Butler County, KY to the late William and Rena Johnson. Lucille enjoyed working in her garden and being outside. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one son Danny Johnson and three brothers J M, Leslie and Billy Johnson.

Linda Fay Burden

Linda Fay Burden, age 66 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Thursday November 3, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY surrounded by her family. Linda was born on Sunday, October 14, 1956 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Hope Sublett who survives. She was a member of Pleasant Rock Church and a homemaker. Linda loved taking care of her cats, she enjoyed her flowers and being outside but the one thing Linda did every morning was read her Bible. Other than her father, she is preceded in death by one brother Robert Sublett.

Roger Bobbett

Roger Bobbett, age 81, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.  He was born on Jan. 13, 1941 to the late Richard and Lelia Mae Bumpus Bobbett.  He was a truck driver, electrician and a member of the IBEW.  Roger enjoyed participating in tractor pulls, aggravating family and friends and storytelling.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

William Estell Goff

William Estell Goff, 78, of Echols, Kentucky passed away October 29, 2022 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. He was born June 6, 1944 to the late Estell and Nellie Renfrow Goff in Greenville, Kentucky. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired with over 30 years with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local #40 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He also worked as a carpenter in his younger years and worked at River Queen Mines. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and as a hobby he made handmade knifes.
