James Earl Webster age 72 of Beaver Dam, KY passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his residence. James was born on Friday, March 2, 1951 in Butler County, KY to the late Ambrose Webster and Lucy Engler Berg. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a young man from 1971-1974 and he retired from IGA after 37+ years. Throughout his life he became an entrepreneur, a pilot, a golfer, a farmer, a bee charmer, a rhythm guitar player, a songwriter, and a darn good singer. And aside from all that, he was a wonderful human being.

Elizabeth Ione Maynard, age 89 of Morgantown, KY passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. Elizabeth was born on Saturday, July 14, 1934 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Even and Elsie Lamastus Basham and wife of the Herbert Leroy Maynard. She worked at Kellwood in Morgantown for over 25 years and she was a Christian. Elizabeth loved cooking, sewing and playing bingo.

Estelle Henderson Embry, age 93, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.  She was born on Sept. 6, 1930 in Flener, Ky.  She was a member of Aberdeen Baptist Church, loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone.  She was preceded in death by her parents John C. Sr.

Lemon E. Childers, age 78 of Morgantown, KY passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at his residence. He was born on Monday, September 25, 1944 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Thurston and Gordy Mae Cardwell Childers. Lemon was a retired lineman for Pike Electric,  he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, dancing, going to yard sales and driving around with LeAnn. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Konnie Childers and William Earl Childers. 

Amy Beth Embry, 53, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Amy enjoyed genealogy, helping people in need, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. She was a proud member of Northside Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Amy was an Assistant Professor at South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Amy was born on September 28, 1969 in Youngstown, Ohio to Victor and Carol (Gurney) Brumlow. She is preceded in death by her father, Victor Brumlow.

Joe W. Simmons, age 82 of Bowling Green, KY passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his residence. Joe was born on Saturday, November 23, 1940 in Bowling Green, KY to the union of the late Levi and Johnnie Thelma Miller Simmons. He was a member of Barren River Baptist Church and a retired truck driver for Monarch Trucking. Joe loved to quail and dove hunt. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters Lucille Justice, Tempie Hazel, Wandell Manning and Alta Grimsley and four brothers Paul, James, Charles Ray and Howard Simmons. 

Opal Mae Phelps, age 83 of Morgantown, KY passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Opal was born on Saturday, March 2, 1940 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Tower and Nellie Farris Johnson and wife of the late Denzil W. Phelps She was a member of Roundhill Church of Christ and retired from Kellwood in Morgantown. Opal loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, planting flowers, going to church, and reading her Bible.

Kenneth E. Duke, age 46, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on March 23, 1977.  Kenneth worked for WAKY Signs in Bowling Green, Ky. for many years.  He was a computer whiz and loved collecting comic books.   He was preceded in death by his parents Randall and Myrtie Johnson Duke; brother Dewey P. Duke; grandparents Edna Duke and Nelly and Tower Johnson.

Christian Felipe Gomez Francisco, age 9 of Morgantown, KY  passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN. Christian was born on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Owensboro, KY to the union of Pedro and the late Eulalia Gomez. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Morgantown, KY. Christian was a 4th grade student at Morgantown Elementary School, he loved basketball, playing guitar, singing and reading the Bible. Other than his mother, Christian is preceded in death by his grandparents Felipe Gomez Pedro and Juana Perez Pedro.

 Eulalia Gomez, age 30 of Morgantown, KY passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Cromwell, KY. Eulalia was born on Tuesday, December 15, 1992 in Homestead, Florida to Magdalena Tomas Tomas who survives. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church,  a extra ordinary Eucharistic Minister and a catequist at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Eulalia initiated the Rosary Prayers in peoples homes. Eulalia loved helping people, she enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her children and watching them at their sporting events.
