Joe W. Simmons, age 82 of Bowling Green, KY passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his residence. Joe was born on Saturday, November 23, 1940 in Bowling Green, KY to the union of the late Levi and Johnnie Thelma Miller Simmons. He was a member of Barren River Baptist Church and a retired truck driver for Monarch Trucking. Joe loved to quail and dove hunt. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters Lucille Justice, Tempie Hazel, Wandell Manning and Alta Grimsley and four brothers Paul, James, Charles Ray and Howard Simmons. 

Joe W. Simmons is survived by his wife of 53 years Bonnie L. Albright Simmons of Bowling Green, KY; one son Billy Joe Simmons (Tammy) of Bowling Green, KY; three daughters Renee Updegraff (Bruce) of Bowling Green, KY, Amy Holthaus (Ken) of Bowling Green, KY and Emily Belcher (BJ) of Morgantown KY; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, with one on the way and several nieces and nephews. 

A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 10:00am - 12:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 12:00pm at the Barren River Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Hatcher and Bro.
