Randall Anderson, age 78, of Springfield, TN passed away on March 9, 2025 at the Northcrest Medical Center in TN.  He was born in Butler Co., KY on January 5, 1947 to the late Joe C. and Clarcie Cook Anderson.  Randall was a radio relay and carrier operator and mechanic in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal,  Sharpshooter Rifle Award, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. Randall loved to watch sports, play bingo and spending time at Baker’s store talking with his friends.

James Nay Havens, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence in Butler County on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on Thursday, January 6, 1949, in the Banock Community of Butler County, James lived a life marked by kindness, adventure, and selflessness.

Vernie Ed DeWeese, age 86, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.  He was born in Welcome, KY on Oct. 5, 1938.  Ed worked for Coleman Bros. Car Lot as a mechanic for over 60 years.  He loved farming and driving around.  He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Dean Baize DeWeese and his parents Corbie and Minnie Wilson DeWeese; sisters Dorene Dusky, Doris Coleman; brothers Corbie Jr.

William Roger Gaskey, known affectionately as Roger by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on Monday, December 21, 1942, in Butler County, Kentucky, Roger's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his community, and his passions.

Collins Layton Bryant, known fondly as Layton by friends and family, passed away peacefully on the 3rd of March, 2025, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, at the age of 87. Born in Butler County, KY on the 9th of September, 1937, Layton lived a life rich in faith, ingenuity, and love.

Harold Reeves, age 83, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky.  He was born in Berea, KY on Dec. 10, 1941.   Harold was a heavy equipment operator for many years and a member of Belmont Church.  He loved to coon hunt and train coon hounds.  He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Reeves; sons Troy and Mark Reeves; parents Joe and Susie England Reeves and a brother Jerry Reeves.

Anna Louise Covetts Cohron, known affectionately to friends and family as Louise, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on Monday, December 3, 1934, in Lewisport, Kentucky, Louise's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication, woven through 90 remarkable years.

Vila LaVette Johnson, affectionately known as LaVette, passed away peacefully at her residence in Morgantown, Kentucky, on Friday, February 28, 2025. Born on Tuesday, November 16, 1954, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Roy L. and Loretha Harris Johnson, LaVette lived a life marked by generosity, community service, and a love for the outdoors.

Eva Johnson Hawes, 77, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on February 28, 2025.  Eva was born on July 3, 1947, and grew up on Bull Creek in Butler County. She attended Waverly School, a one-room schoolhouse, before finishing her education and graduating from Butler County High School in 1967.

From a young age, Eva displayed a strong work ethic, beginning her career at the Butler County Clerk's Office, where she worked for 19 years. Later, she and her husband, Kenneth, founded a successful microfilming business, which they ran together for 27 years.

James P. Rogers—known to many as Jimmy—was born on February 14, 1935, in Bowling Green, KY, to the late James and Margaret Rogers. A proud Bowling Green native, he attended Bowling Green City Schools and graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1953, where he made a name for himself on the football field.
