Nickolas "Nick" M. Johnson

Nickolas “Nick” M. Johnson, age 72, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky.  He was born in Butler Co., KY on Aug. 24, 1952.  Nick was a forklift operator at Universal Co-op for 20 plus years and retired from Bowling Green Metal Forming.  He loved to hunt, fish and mow.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Ashlee Vincent; parents Sonny and Mary Ann Johnson and his brother Harold Johnson.

Phillip G. Daugherty

Phillip G. Daugherty, age 78, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. He was born in Butler Co., KY on July 25, 1946. Phillip was a member of Salem Baptist Church, worked for the L&N Railroad, Friendly Furniture for over 17 years, the County Road Dept. and a former janitor for BCHS.  He loved hunting, fishing and taxidermy.  He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Odle Daugherty; granddaughter Jaclyn Daugherty; parents James O. and Maxine McKee Daugherty; daughter-in-law Lisa Russ Daugherty.

Joseph “Eddie” Boswell

Joseph “Eddie” Boswell, 79, of Hartford, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, with his family by his side at his residence. He was born Saturday, August 18, 1945, in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late William B. Boswell and Lou Anna Miller Boswell. Eddie held many jobs throughout his life but held his positions with Greenriver Boys Camp and Job Corps closest to his heart. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William Thomas Boswell and two sisters Mary Lou Baugh and Billie Taylor.

Rickie Louis Hudson

Rickie Louis Hudson, passed away peacefully at his residence in Morgantown, Kentucky, on April 15, 2025, after a life well-lived. Born on August 10, 1954, in Edmonson County, Kentucky, Rickie was a man of great humor, friendliness, and practical skills that endeared him to all who knew him.

Rickie spent many years skillfully operating a bulldozer in the coal mines, a job that spoke to his tenacity and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, he was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where he found a community of faith and fellowship that enriched his life.

James Wilbur Martin, age 83 of Morgantown, KY, passed away at his residence in Morgantown, KY, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on Friday, February 27, 1942, in the same community he would call home for his entire life, James's journey was one marked by dedication, love, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Richard “Dick” Forbes

Richard “Dick” Forbes, age 84, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, KY.  He was born in Butler Co., KY on May 9, 1940 and was retired from the State Highway Department.  Dick was an avid collector and passionate about trucks and tractors.  He was preceded in death by his parents Leborn and Ollie Heath Forbes and his siblings.

Dick is survived by several nieces and nephews and his companion Mildred Basham.

Judy Ann Filback

Judy Ann Filback, 78 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Ohio County to the late George Levi Everly and Lillian B. Sandefur Swain. Judy was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church, was a past member of The Order of the Eastern Star (OES) and she retired from WPT after 23 years of service.

Raymond Everett Smith

Raymond Everett Smith, age 43, of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born on June 9, 1981, he was the cherished son of Charles Smith of Leitchfield and Judie Swift Farris of Caneyville.

Raymond served his country with honor as a Medic in the U.S. Army from April 20, 2006, until November 9, 2012, completing two tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. His unwavering spirit, commitment to service, and compassion for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
