Twin Lakes Restaurant, Paylakes back in business at Gilstrap

A familiar eatery and paylake in the Gilstrap community of north Butler County is back in business.  Twin Lakes Restaurant and Pay Lakes, with new owner Roger Pharris, recently reopened the establishment and is ready for business.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.  Although Twin Lakes offers a full menu, the restaurant features catfish, a seafood platter special, and “never frozen, always fresh”  catfish fiddlers.

“We process the fiddlers on site in our own processing room,” said Pharris.  "We also proudly serve RC products and, according to many, have the best cole slaw around."

There are five lakes on site and are open around the clock, 24/7.  Pharris stocks over 3,000 pounds of fish weekly.  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are "No Limit" days - you can fish for $15 for as long as you like and catch as many fish as you want.

“On Saturday nights, starting at 6 p.m., we host a Fishing Rodeo.  The cost is $25 and cash prizes are offered for the biggest fish and the heaviest five fish, based on the number of entries,” added Pharris.

Twin Lakes is offering a $1,000 Fishing Derby during the July 4th weekend.  Details can be found on the Twin Lakes Facebook page.

"Why not spend a day with friends on the bank of a catfish pond, someone might win the jackpot, and you can harvest a few eatin’-size cats for a fish fry," said Pharris.

As a pay lake, a Kentucky fishing license is not required.  Twin Lakes is located at 2135 Gilstrap Road.  For more information or for carry-out orders, customers may call 526-0661.
