Morgantown Community Church will once again offer an opportunity for our whole community to worship on Christmas Eve. This annual service includes worship, a brief teaching, and the evening culminates with a candlelight service.

"We hope you, along with your family and friends, will join us at MCC on Christmas Eve," said Josh Scott, senior pastor.  "It is always a very special service." 

Butler County Middle School had three Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) students who lead a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project over the past couple of months.  The students who lead the project were Hannah McClelland, Hannah Perry, and Mikayla Iler.  They participated in the program Treats for Troops by raising money from selling baked goods.  All of the proceeds went towards the Wounded Warriors Project and the final total they raised was $200 with the help from many generous people in the community.

Morgantown Bank & Trust’s lobby was transformed into a holiday celebration on Friday, December 14, as members of the community came together to share their talents and generate a little Christmas spirit.

When William Dave Bryant and Lillious Phelps Bryant were married on November 30, 1939, Franklin D. Roosevelt was into his second term and Lieutenant Governor Keen Johnson had just replaced A. B. “Happy” Chandler as Kentucky’s Governor.

The couple has been married 73 years.  “He said it was just like yesterday,” said their daughter, Patsy Brown, as family sat with mom and dad and talked Saturday morning at the home of Patsy’s brother, M. D. Bryant in North Butler.
