BC Opry Raises Over $3,700 for BCHS Marching Band

The Butler County Opry fundraiser was brought back in action on Saturday, August 9 raising money for the Butler County High School Marching Band. Following the success of the previous Opry show for Project Prom, this event is looking to be a positive, new, and stimulating way to bring the community together, exhibit local talent, and raise money for good causes/organizations.


The show exhibited a wide variety of musical performances. Set one saw performances by Collin Coots, Colton Givens, Becky & the Boys, Doug Odle did a spot-on performance of a Marty Robbins song.  Lydia Bratcher performed Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic”.  Russell Givens thrilled the crowd with the Foster & Lloyd country classic “Crazy Over You”.  Anita Grubb sang Loretta Lynn.  Haley Jarbo sang a great version of Sara Evans’ “No Place That Far”.  Kenny Johnson sang Merle Haggard’s “Sing Me Back Home”.  Tiffany Winchel and Jason Skaggs, Kayley Jarboe, Amanda Johnson and Katherine Flener,  and Carelissa Young also performed before the packed house.


A short 15-minute intermission was held to allow for restroom breaks and concessions. Set two of the show opened with Collin, Colton, Becky & the Boys,  f ollowed by Gina, Melissa,  Shelbyand Rachael Rose, Debbie Rose Worley singing “Satin Sheets”,  Jeanne Pruett’s classic. Eli Johnson performed Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. , Amanda Neighbors sang Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One”.  Other performers included Barry Embry, Bailey Hunt and Lennon Johnson, Jon Hunt, Allison Kurfiss sang the Judds’ “Why Not Me”.  Ashlnne Brooks sang Lady A’s song “American Honey”.  Boyce and Scott Flener and Darren Lawrence performed and  Jacob Mudd sang the late George Jones’ classic “One Woman Man”.  Bj Dockery sang “Help Me Make It Through The Night”. Phillip Rose sang George Straits’ “Living and Living Well”. 


After a set and costume change, the legendary Beatles-in the form of the Rose Band-came on stage and entertained the crowd with classics such as “She Loves You”.  This big show wouldn’t be complete without an appearance by the King; Elvis.  The crowd was entertained  by Boyce Flener with “Suspicious Minds”, “Look Away(Dixieland)”, and the closer of “Glory, Glory Hallelujah”.

This Butler County Opry raised $3.723.95 for the BCHS Marching Band.
