Mrs. Mae McKinney Celebrates 102nd Birthday

Mrs. Lillie Mae (Givens) McKinney celebrated her 102nd birthday on Sunday afternoon at Morgantown Care and Rehab.  Family and friends gathered to have cake and refreshments with the birthday lady.  Mrs. Mae has one surviving son, Bobby McKinney and three grandchildren.  She was born on December 1, 1912, in Butler County .  She and her late husband Jack lived in the Silver City Community, where Mrs. Mae was a homemaker and loved to work outdoors in the tobacco patch and fields.  She became a resident of MCRC a little of two years ago.  Happy Birthday Mrs.

The Picture Man Travels to Grace Temple

The Picture Man is a firm believer in that old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words.” The picture before him this past Monday at Grace Temple was one of a flurry of work. Not the kind of work where you have a job you really don’t like but more like the kind of work you do when you have favorite company coming over and you’re getting the house ready.

Puppet Show / Thanksgiving Dinner at B&G Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Morgantown facilitated a puppet show and Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday November 20. The puppet show was performed by members of South Central Kentucky's "Kids on the Block". This incident of the performance was funded by Alpha Beta Gamma, a sorority at Western Kentucky University. The show was intended to quail misunderstandings and educate the children about Diabetes.

Quality Christmas Parade December 13th

 The 12th Annual Quality, KY Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2014 @ 1:00 p.m. Line up starts at 12:00 noon @ the old Andrews Store on Highway 106 near the Butler/Logan Co. line. This year's theme is "Baby's First Christmas". Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in five categories:cars, trucks, tractors, floats, & ATVs. ALL entries MUST be decorated. Parade participants will be in a drawing for a country ham. Everyone in attendance can register for one of four $50 cash prizes. MUST be present to win.

Warren RECC Holiday Open House

Warren RECC hosted its annual holiday open house at the Morgantown office on Tuesday, November 18th. The event was scheduled for 3-6 pm.  However, people were lined up as early as 2:30 p.m.
