Anna and Elsa Visit Morgantown

Anna and Elsa made the journey from Arendelle to Morgantown on Saturday December 20 to greet a crowd of astonished young fans and pose for photos. The event was sponsored by Beech Tree News, WLBQ 101.5 and was hosted by the Butler County Arts Guild in conjunction with the Butler County Public Library and the Butler County Movie Club. The princesses posed with the groups of children for photos before moving to the back room of the library for singing performances and a showing of "Frozen" by the Butler County Movie Club.

A SPECIAL EVENING OF MUSIC AND FELLOWSHIP

A special evening of music and fellowship for Wednesday evening, December 31, 2014 at 7:00 p.m at the Aberdeen Baptist Church is being planned.  The Johnsons and the Mudds will present new songs from their new projects they are presently working on.  Graham West and others will be presenting special music. Bro. Roger Taylor says, “With Christmas behind us we thought we would move into a different frame of mind as we look forward to the new year. There will be a short time of fellowship at the end of the service for anyone wishing to attend and bring snacks for sharing.

Greg Woodcock Retirement Ceremony

On Thursday December 18, faculty and staff members from Morgantown Elementary School gathered with some community officials to celebrate Greg Woodcock's retirement as well as remember his time in the Butler County School system. The gathering began at approximately 3:30 PM  in the library of Morgantown Elementary, where cake and punch were served. Mr. Woodcock took the floor to speak. "There's never been a day when I got up and dreaded coming to work. I've always had great people around me, and it's been an incredible time.

Compassionate Friends Candle Lighting Service

On Sunday, December 14, the Butler County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends held their 6th annual meeting.  The event began with a welcome given by Debbie Young, Chapter Leader, she also explained the Compassionate Friends Program. Following this, the Compassionate Friends Credo was read by Kenneth Young. Teresa Johnson shared memories of her daughter, Jordan  and identified with the group, underlining the importance of fellowship and help from the community .

Children's Story Hour at Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Catholic Church is hosting a children's story hour Monday, December 22 at 6 p.m. We will view the Nativity scene up close and hear the story of the birth of the Savior. A short Christmas play will be presented by our high school age parishowners from Beaver Dam.  We will do a small craft to take home  and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.  All  are invited.
Holy Trinity Catholic Church is located at  766 Logansport Road in  Morgantown.
