On Friday, May 26 at 7:30 pm the 2017 Commencement for Butler County High School will be held in the school gymnasium.  As principal, I am happy to be a part of this special occasion and I am very proud of our students, teachers, and staff.  In consideration of making this event go as smoothly as possible, we will have school buses picking up guests at the old Pamida building beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The buses will resume the return route as soon as the commencement is over. There will be assistance with initial parking at the school until all parking areas are filled.

Mon. May 1: Oak Ridge Christian School 

Tues. May 2: Morgantown Route 

North Warren St, Kent Manor, East Morris St. 

Wed. May 3: Roundhill Route 

Brownsville Rd, Dywer Rd, Jones Rd, Region Rd.

The Butler County Chapter NSDAR held their annual Silver Awards Tea on Thursday, April 27 in the Lucille Hood Room of the Butler County Public Library. There was a capacity crowd as many parents and other relatives came to see the students recognized for their achievements. The program began with a welcome from Chapter Regent Georgia Lavern Romans and devotional by Chaplain Peggy Drake. The pledge to the flag was then led by Flag chair Lynda O’Driscoll. The awards were then presented to those students who were in attendance.

Tristan Elmore was awarded The Dean's Award of Merit in Science is awarded to the outstanding senior in the area of Science (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics and Astronomy) at Eastern Kentucky University.  He has demonstrated exceptional academic achievements in an apporiate discipline as well as campus leadrship, community service, and the potential for professional achievement. Tristan received a plaque and an award of $1001.

The people of Butler County packed the auditorium Tuesday night, April 18th, to support Morgantown Elementary in their production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (also known as SKy PAC) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
