Butler County DAR Ladies Attend Genealogy Workshop

The Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution held a workshop in Bowling Green on Saturday, May 13. Attending from the Butler County Chapter were Linda Deweese, Lois Russ, Gladys Brooks and Lynda O’Driscoll. The ladies were given research tips for finding information on your Revolutionary ancestors. The workshop also included information on how to use the new online application for membership into the DAR presented by KSDAR Registrar Ann Penington.

New FCCLA Officers

The Butler County High Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America recently attended the Region 4 FCCLA Leadership Meeting at WKU.   Congratulations to Evan Johnson for being elected Region 4 President and to Delaney Embry for begin elected Region 4 Vice President of Parliamentary Law for the 2017-18 school year.  Mikayla Iler also completed her duties as Region 4 Vice President for Parliamentary Law.

Butler County Schools Hosts First Early Childhood Extravaganza

Butler County Schools is working hard to shape the future and bring new meaning to school readiness!   The Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Education presented an opportunity to participate in a statewide initiative on early childhood education.  Superintendent Scott Howard put together a School Readiness team of eight individuals, leading the team himself as part of this Initiative.  Butler County’s team was chosen to participate and have attended statewide meetings in the Fall 2016 and in the Spring of 2017.  Our local team includes Scott Howard, Superintendent;  Sarah McKee, Director

VFW Auxiliary 5837 to Host Memorial Day Program

Darlene Scott of the newly formed Butler County Kentucky Piecemakers.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5837 will host the annual Memorial Day Program on May 29, 2017 at 11 am. The Memorial will be held on the Butler County Courthouse lawn.
Participating this year will be Butler County and Green River Chapter Daughters to the American Revolution also the General Butler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. The speaker will be Darlene Scott of the newly formed Butler County Kentucky Piecemakers.

Project Prom Thanks You

The BCHS Project Prom committee would like to thank the following for their part in making the 2017 BCHS Project Prom successful. Our students had a fun night of playing games and participating in various activities to win money and prizes.  

 

We also want to thank anyone who participated in fundraising or purchased items from one of our fundraisers and all those that volunteered their time on the night of Project Prom. A special thank you to all who prepared and/or sent food for Project Prom night.
