On Saturday, May 19, the second annual Morgantown Mission Helping Hands fund benefit was held from 5-8 p.m. at Butler County Middle School.  Over $3,000 was raised from the barbeque meal, silent auction, and donations.

Butler County native Danny Brosnan graduated from Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy in Park Hills, Missouri, on May 17, 2018.  Danny is the son of Michael and Berna Brosnan of Provo and a 2009 graduate of Butler County High School.  His peers voted Danny president of his class.  He earned valedictorian of his police recruit class and received multiple other awards at the graduation including Patrol Rifle Marksmanship, Top Performance in Physical Training, Director’s Award, and Best Overall Performance.

The Butler County High School Football team hosted a successful car show on Saturday, May 12th.  It was a beautiful day with nice cars, good food, and friendly faces. All proceeds went to help support our BCHS Football team. It was $10.00 to register a vehicle and $5.00 for a meal that was prepared by some of our fantastic football parents.  Judging started at 1:00PM and the awards ceremony started a 2:00PM.

We would like to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, Gideon Bibles, phone calls, texts, food, visits, and especially the prayers during the loss of our Daughter, Sister, and Aunt Sharon Deweese.

Our gratitude is extended to Bro. Randall Deweese and Bro. David Hocker for the lovely service and words of comfort.  Laney Meredith for the songs she beautifully sang and to Jones Funeral Chapel and staff for the excellent service, kindness and understanding during this diffcult time. 

She will be forever missed and always remembered.

Some of the Cub Scouts from Pack 208 had a wonderful weekend, May 5th, at Barren River State Park.  It rained hard, very hard, the entire day and night.  Despite the harsh weather, the 8 to 10-year-old boys learned, met many requirements and had fun. 

Morgantown Elementary celebrated their Leaders of the Week on Friday.  Congratulations to all the students and classes.

The BCHS Project Prom committee would like to thank the following for their part in making the 2018 BCHS Project Prom successful. Our students had a fun night of playing games and participating in various activities to win money and prizes. 

Bears Den Summer Camp will begin to take pre-registrations May 1, 2018. We will offer programs from June 4^th to June 29^th from 7am to 5:30 pm.
