The family of Wendell "Nip" Phelps would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness through our loss.  We would like to thank the doctors and all the health personnel, the family and friends that could be with us and to the ones who couldn't attend.  Thanks for thinking of us in our time of need.  A special thanks to all those who brought food, sent flowers, and gave money, it meant so much to us all.  Thank you to Bro. Frankie, Bro.

22nd Annual Butler County FFA Toy Tractor Show

On Saturday, March 10th, the 22nd annual Toy Tractor Show was held at Butler County High School.  The idea for the show originated in 1996 with Ryan Pendley and a group of FFA officers.  Ryan is currently the Alumni Chair and still very involved with the growth of the fundraiser.

March Gladness raises over $12K for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County

Pancake breakfast was a hit.

The annual March Gladness fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County was held on March 3, at Cool Springs Church, and drew hundreds of gracious supporters from all parts of the county.

Spring Playschool 2018

 The Butler County Child Development classes will conduct a Playschool for preschool children.  The days will be Tuesdays for 2 ½ and 3 year-olds, Wednesdays for 4 year-olds and Fridays for 5 year-olds; however, we are willing to work with parents on scheduling.  Children who are presently enrolled in kindergarten are not eligible to attend.  All children must be potty-trained.

North Butler Elementary Art Show & Book Fair

Not only did students have an exciting READ ACROSS AMERICA week at North Butler Elementary, but the entire family was able to join in the fun. March 1, North Butler Elementary held their annual Art Show and Spring Book Fair Family Night.  Students and their families came out to support their students in the arts and literacy and that they did!  Many activities were held to go along with the art show and book fair, such as pet origami, the photo booth, guessing games, Clifford and much more.  The Family Resource Center provided free dinner for families as well.

Sherry Webster Retires after 43 years

On Tuesday, February 27th, Sherry Coleman Webster retired after working 43 years in local dentists’ offices.  After attending Bowling Green Vocational School to become a dental assistant, she began her career with Dr.  Terry Tippin in Morgantown in the spring of 1975.  She also worked for Dr. Will Johnson and Dr.

Case Hooten serves as a Student Legislative Page

Case Hooten has been selected from Morgantown Elementary to serve as a Student Legislative Page in March 2018.  Case is a 5th grade student and is excited about the opportunity to represent his school during the Legislative Session.

Rich will attend KY State Leadership Conference

Paul Alexander Rich, a junior at Butler County High, has been sponsored by the American Legion Post #151 to attend Kentucky Boys State Leadership Conference June 3-8, 2018.  Kentucky Boys State will be held at Campbellsville University and focuses on Citizenship, Government and Leadership for 11th grade Young Men, entering the 12th grade in the fall.
