4-H Shooting Sports Program Is Underway

Two Butler County fifth grade students, Blake Bratcher (North Butler) and Case Hooten (MES)  were given a wonderful opportunity as they served as page for Senator C.B. Embry in the Senate chambers on March 8, 2018.   The two students were chosen to represent their schools after they submitted an application and essay to the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers Coalition of KY. 

The Butler County Public Library is encouraging local residents to garden with its seed library.

United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK) has collected more than 100,000 items to date in a region wide food drive titled “Feed the Need” across Allen, Barren, Butler, Hart, Logan, Simpson, and Warren counties. This brings the ten year total of collected items as a result of “Feed the Need” efforts to more than 675,000 items. In its first year of inception (2009), Feed the Need collected a little more than 43,000 items.

Saturday, March 31, Monticello had an Easter celebration that included the Easter story, craft and food demonstration.  There were relay games, snacks, and an egg hunt to close the event.  There were at least 60 kids in attendance. 

Morgantown Elementary celebrated their Leaders In Me on Friday.  Congratulations to all the students and classes.

North Butler Elementary has released their 3rd Nine Weeks honor roll and perfect attendance lists.  Congratulations to all the students.

The Butler County Stockman’s Association has had an active March.  On March 10^th, the Stockman’s Association held its 8th Annual Livestock Sale.  There were 60 head consigned to the sale.  Consigners were from Butler, Grayson, and Logan County.  Mr. A.J.
