Butler County Bassmasters kick off 30th Season

Jimmy and Garrett Leach

Butler County Bassmasters began their 30th season at the Peabody WMA with the 2018 Kick-off Open sponsored by CRT Sports and Monogram on Saturday, March 17th. Fishing was exceptionally tough with multiple fronts moving in on top of one another.  Peabody WMA usually provides excellent early season opportunities for big bass, but the weather really put a damper on the size of fish weighed in. 24 boats participated in the tournament with

John Keown of Ohio County taking 1st place with 10.16 lbs.,

2nd Jimmy Leach and Garrett Leach 9.36 lbs.,3rd Paul Cook and Eddie Cook 7.05 lbs., 4th David Coleman and Ryan Coleman 5.87 lbs. Big bass of the tournament went to Jimmy Leach and Garrett Leach with a 3.89 lb largemouth.

The next BCB event will be the first regular season tournament at Lake Malone State Park on Saturday March 24th. The tournament starts at 7:00 AM with weigh-in at 3:00 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat.  The annual $10/person membership fee is required to fish this tournament. Come on out for a great day of fishing.

BCB would like to thank all of our members and 2018 sponsors: Southern Outdoors, Cabela’s, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, CRT Sports & Monogram, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great 30th year of fishing and fellowship in 2018.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters in 2018, listed below is their contact information.
