Clark helps lead Midway to doubleheader sweep

MIDWAY - Butler County High School graduate Lynsie Clark helped to lead host Midway to a doubleheader sweep over Brescia in a college softball twinbill at William G. Clark Memorial Field on Friday
In the opening game, Midway plated 10 runs on eight hits to pull away to beat longtime rival Brescia 10-2 in five innings via run-rule.
Midway shook off a slow start in the second game to defeat Brescia 10-6 and sweep the doubleheader. The Eagles battled back from an early three-run deficit to notch a victory in the second game. 
Over two games, Midway manufactured 20 runs on 19 hits.
Following the two victories, Midway improved to 8-11 overall and 2-2 in the River States Conference. 
Clark, who is from Morgantown, finished 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Midway in the opening game. A senior infielder, Clark batted third for Midway in the opening game of the doubleheader. In the field, Clark played third base for the Eagles. 
Clark moved to the cleanup spot in the Midway batting order in the second game of the doubleheader and finished 1-for-4.
The productive Clark has started all 19 of Midway's games thus far in the 2018 season. She is batting .250 with 15 hits and 11 RBIs. Clark has connected for three doubles, one triple and one home run. The former Butler County Lady Bear has also stolen four bases.
Clark is majoring in Business Administration.
