Butler County Bears Jr. Pro Football hold camp

MORGANTOWN - The Butler County Bears Jr. Pro Football Camp was held Wednesday-Thursday at the middle school. Players in grades K-6 attended the camp. 
Volunteer coaches for the camp were K-2 - Dustin Dockery and Talbert Embry; 3-4 - Roscoe Bratcher and Steven McLean and 5-6 - Kory Johnson, Braxton Broesamle and Larry Cooper. 
Around 40 kids attended the youth football camp.

Golf Scramble- June 23rd

The BCHS Boys Golf Team will be having a Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 23 @8am, registration will begin at 7:30.  Bring your own four man team.    Closest to pins and longest drives will be rewarded.  Come out and play in support of our youth on the Butler County Middle and High School Golf Teams.

Clark named to RSC Softball Champions of Character Team

MIDWAY - Midway University senior Lynsie Clark has been named to the River States Conference Softball Champions of Character Team. A graduate of Butler County High School, Clark hails from Morgantown. 
The RSC Softball Champions of Character Team consist of one representative from each school who best represents the five character values of the NAIA Champions of Character, which are: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

Rogers concludes college softball career

COLUMBIA - Butler County High School graduate Amy Rogers has concluded her college softball career at  Lindsey Wilson College.
Rogers played in 44 games for Lindsey Wilson College during the 2018 season, making 38 starts. She finished her senior campaign with 16 hits, 14 runs, 14 RBIs, three doubles and one home run. 
A former standout at Butler County High School. Rogers made the move to Lindsey Wilson from Lindenwood-Belleville. She majored in Education.

Jr. Pro Softball Recognizes Teams

The Cardinals ended the season with the best overall record.

The Butler County Jr. Pro Softball wrapped up its inagural season Thursday, May 31 by recognizing players in the BCMS Gym. The teams were originally slated to play their season-ending tournament, but the games were rained out.

Teams were recognized based on their overall record during league games. Players were presented medals and coaches received plaques of appreciation for their efforts.

Butler County softball team advances to 3rd Region Semifinals

CALHOUN - Butler County passed its first test in the 3rd Region Softball Tournament at McLean County on Monday afternoon, pulling away to defeat Meade County 9-4.
Thriving late, Butler County scored eight of its nine runs over the last three innings.

Softball: Bears finish 12th District Runner-Up

BROWNSVILLE - Butler County was limited to one hit as Grayson County held on to win 2-0 in the 12th District Softball Tournament title game at Edmonson County High School on Thursday. With the loss, Butler County dropped to 18-10. Grayson County improved to 17-8 with the win. Both Grayson County and Butler County advance to the 3rd Region Softball Tournament.
Kylee Smith, one of the top softball pitchers in the 3rd Region, started the game in the circle for Butler County and recorded 18 outs. But the Bears couldn't produce enough offensively to claim the district title.
