ROCKY HILL, Ky. (March 31, 2023) — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested to investigate a trooper-involved shooting that occurred on March 30th, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m. CST in Edmonson County. KSP’s CIRT arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the incident.

A male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner.

KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
