Morgantown Bank & Trust hosted a reception at the Data Center to honor the exceptional achievements of four scholarship recipients. These students were selected based on their outstanding academic performance, community involvement, and leadership qualities. MB&T's generous donation of $10,000 has been awarded to these outstanding students, each of whom will receive $1,250 per semester during their first year of college.

UPDATE: Robbery on Caneyville Road

UPDATE: 4/23/24 Butler County Sheriff, Scottie Ward, has reported that the victims of the robbery have been interviewed and provided additional information. The victims have stated that the suspect was armed with a gun. They have no knowledge of where he came from or where he fled following the incident. He took approximately $5,000.

Meredith Secures Raymer's Appointment To Fish and Wildlife Commission

Raymer to fill unexpired term through 2026

FRANKFORT, KY. (April 16, 2024) – The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Jeff Raymer of Morgantown to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources Commission. The confirmation comes following the passage of Senate Resolution (SR) 129, sponsored by Sen. Stephen Meredith, R-Leitchfield, which affirms Mr. Raymer's appointment by the Governor.

This Week at the State Capitol

Legislators gather on the House floor ahead proceedings on Friday, day 59 of the 60-day session.

Lawmakers overrode vetoes on two dozen measures Friday as the Kentucky General Assembly reconvened in Frankfort for the penultimate day of the 2024 legislative session.

 

It was the first time the House and Senate have gaveled into session since the chambers adjourned in March for a two-week veto recess. The recess provides time for the governor to sign bills, allow them to become law without his signature or issue vetoes.

Senate confirms new state commissioner of education
