UPDATE: Robbery on Caneyville Road

UPDATE: 4/23/24 Butler County Sheriff, Scottie Ward, has reported that the victims of the robbery have been interviewed and provided additional information. The victims have stated that the suspect was armed with a gun. They have no knowledge of where he came from or where he fled following the incident. He took approximately $5,000. The suspect is described as being slim and tall, and was wearing all black clothing with a mask. The three victims have received medical treatment and have been discharged from the Medical Center.

The Butler County Sheriff's Department promptly responded to a robbery report on Caneyville Road Sunday night, between 9:45 and 10:00 p.m. Three employees from Don Lindsey's Grocery, consisting of one male and two females, were headed to town when they encountered a flat tire just past Deweese Road. While changing the tire, they were viciously attacked by a masked man wielding a crowbar. The male victim was struck and rendered unconscious, while the two female victims were roughly handled. The masked man, who made away with the night deposit bag, fled on foot, and the exact amount of money taken is currently unknown. The Butler County EMS transported all three victims to the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Sheriff Deputies Nathan Barks, Andrew Hunstad, and Joe Alford responded to the incident.
