 LTC Connect has awarded educational scholarships to three local students who plan to further their education after high school. The 2024 scholarship winners are:

• Addalynn DeArmond (Muhlenberg County High School) - Daughter of Lisa DeArmond.

Firefighters in Butler County will be recognized throughout the month of May following a signing Wednesday, May 1, by Judge-Executive Timothy Flener in honor of International Firefighters’ Day on Saturday, May 4.

International Firefighters’ Day takes place annually on the first Saturday in May. It was started in 1999 in Australia by firefighter J.J. Edmondson following the deaths of five volunteers fighting a wildfire and has since been adopted in communities around the world. This is the second year Butler County will be observing IFFD.

(Morgantown, KY)- Butler Water will join water utilities across the country to celebrate Drinking Water Week (May 5-11) by recognizing the vital role tap water plays in daily life, the infrastructure that is required to carry it to and from homes and businesses, and the important work of water professionals “behind the scenes” to provide reliable water service.

On Thursday, May 2, on the Butler County Courthouse lawn, local leaders, community advocates, business owners, Board of Education members, local church leaders and members, business owners, representatives of the media, and many more came out to observe and participate in the National Day of Prayer.

On April 6, 2024, officers with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Department issued citations to five out-of-state turkey hunters in Butler County. The incident occurred near Hwy 411, Love Lee Road, on the Bowles Farm.  Among those cited and awaiting arraignment in court is at least one Jasper, Indiana police officer - Kaleb Chambers (DOB 9/11/92, of Huntingbreg, Indiana.
